How to Avoid the Post Super Bowl Rut

Hands up how many people enjoyed a Super Bowl party? There is a very good chance that most Americans and many more people around the world were glued to a television set somewhere and indulging in beer and unhealthy food.

The chances are very high that you may have drunk way too much beer and ingested enough salty food and fatty food to keep a third world country going for a week.

But that is all cool. Yes, I am not going to berate you like a naughty child because you went out and enjoyed yourself. Everyone is allowed to do that once in a while right? I do so myself at times and I enjoy it when I do!

Now, you are probably thinking this sounds pretty strange coming from a fitness professional. Am I right?

Sure, it may sound like a damaging admission that can ruin my credibility in the industry but it just goes to show that it is okay to enjoy yourself once in a while and you don’t have to beat yourself up and feel bad about it.

The main thing that people who did indulge during the Super Bowl, or any big event for that matter, is to not let that day be a precursor to letting those eating habits rule your life.

The first thing you should be doing the day after the Super Bowl, or your big party, is to get out and exercise. You need to try and put some money back into your body bank by working off some of the calories that you have eaten and drank.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t have any equipment available at home, that is just another limiting belief and excuse that people give themselves.

You can get a great bodyweight workout, and burn off some unwanted belly fat in the comfort of your own lounge room with this little exercise routine that comprises only five exercises, each done for 15 repetitions.

These exercises are as follows: 100 Star Jumps, 20 Burpees, 20 Floor Trunk Extensions, 20 Hover to Push Ups and 20 Plyometric Jumps are your exercises. Repeat 2 times through and you'll be well and truly toasted.

You can find the video right here

The other big tip for you the day after a big event is to ensure that you are drinking plenty of water. Too often people suffer from a hangover after a big day or night and the only reason a hangover occurs is because you are dehydrated. Yes, simply drinking water when you are enjoying a few drinks and before you go to bed that night can help prevent you from feeling like the world is going to end.

So, now you have two fool proof ways to ensure the day after the Super Bowl or any big party is not a total write off that leads you to bingeing even further on unhealthy food options to ease your stomach which feels like it is doing somersaults all day.

Don’t make excuses after a big day out. Make smart choices that will encourage you to achieve the best fat loss results possible.

Fat Loss Tips to Keep the Weight Off this Christmas

The Christmas season has snuck up on us once again and it seems that everywhere you turn there are Christmas parties, Christmas drinks, just about any excuse for a social get together will do. You have two options at this time of year.

You can be like most people and write off December and be behind the eight ball come January 1 just like every other year.

This is a bad choice as it only leaves you needing to lose even more weight than you do now.

Or you can choose the smart option and implement the three little secrets that I am about to share with you that will increase your chance of success of getting through this festive season without the weight gain of previous years.

You might surprise yourself and even lose weight at this time of year which is always a nice bonus!

1) Eat before you go out to a party

The chances are the food options at your function or party will not be the perfect nutrition choice to aid your fat loss mission so you will need to plan ahead.
The easiest way to do this is to make sure you eat something healthy just before you go out. The perfect snack will be something that has protein as an ingredient. Your best bet will be raw, unsalted nuts, a can of tuna or salmon or even some yoghurt.

Eating this just before you leave will fill you up and you will be less likely to rely on the plates of nibbles that offer no nutritional value.

If you forget to eat before you go out, make sure you stick with the vegetable snack plate. Carrot and celery sticks with hummus are a great option to curb any cravings and the bowl of nuts is always going to be better than the chips. Just be careful that the salt on these nuts doesn't make you overeat.

2) Get in a pre-party workout

What better way to get ready for a big night out by putting in a big workout first? Putting the money in the exercise body bank will not only make you feel good about yourself but will leave you feeling more alert and in a great mood after your body releases all of the post exercise feel good endorphin hormones throughout your body.

You will feel like you have earned your drink after this workout, just don't go overboard!

3) Limit your drinking days

I always hear the excuse people need to have a drink every night because they have something on every night this week. This is just a certain route to failure.

The best way to get through the festive season is to plan ahead when you are going to have a drink. Let's be realistic here. It would be silly of me to say just don't drink because that is not going to happen. It is time to celebrate; we just need to do it sensibly.

My big tip here is to make sure you have at least three to four alcohol free days a week.

Unfortunately, alcohol is just empty calories that increase your belly fat. On your alcohol free days just stick to water and not the soft drinks.

Soft drinks are nearly as bad for your figure as alcohol.

Implement these three tips and you are going to be in far better shape than everyone else who says I'll start my fat loss mission next year.

Why wait to do tomorrow what you can do today? Good luck on your weight loss mission and enjoy the festive season while maintaining your training regime and you will get the body that you deserve.

What Do Gordon Ramsay and I Have In Common?

Did that title capture your eye?

So what do we have in common?

The use of the 'F Bomb'? Some may say yes.

A funny accent? Only if you are not from Australia you may think so.

A great chef? That is debatable although I think I go alright just quietly!

So, what do we have in common?

I just finished watching an episode of his show "The F Word" that I taped on Monday night. It's past my bedtime so i gotta tape it!

Anyway, Gordon said something that made me smile, apart from his frequent 'F Bombs'.

He mentioned how one of his colleagues was always harping on about the benefits of a low fat diet and how he thought it was all a load of ... well, you know what he would say about that!

Do you think that Gordon may have seen a copy of my Aussie Fatblast Secrets Revealed Report where on page 5 I talk about the real truth about low fat foods.

Chances are no, but did you read the report. If not why not?

I've also posted about this on here last month

With pioneering chefs like Gordon Ramsay leading the way, the mainstream will eventually catch on to the fact that low fat foods will actually make you fat.

Next time you're at the supermarket, forget about the processed low fat rubbish and go the real deal hollyfield or better still give the packaged stuff a miss and stick with fresh fruits, vegetables, protein sources and water.

Might sound boring to some, but they are the ones who have enough belly fat to last a summer in the Sahara.
